The Timm Lab is based at the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Our work investigates the role of communication in shaping the relationship between science and society, with a focus on climate change adaptation in Alaska and the Arctic. Lab members pursue projects across science and climate change communication, actionable science and the co-production of knowledge, and the connections between communication research and practice.
Joining the Lab
I am open to working with undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students with aligned interests, typically through UAF's Communication or Interdisciplinary Studies graduate programs. I do not currently have funded positions available for incoming students, but I am happy to discuss potential pathways for prospective applicants who have identified other funding sources or fellowships.
I will be advertising a postdoctoral position focused on organizational approaches to science communication in the context of actionable climate adaptation science — please check back for details or feel free to reach out if this sounds like a good fit for your interests.
